Kristen von Riesen - Pure Anada Makeup Artist
This was a fun one! Today's look is demonstrating the power of makeup. Makeup does many wonderful things. It has the power to simply enhance your natural beauty, and work with your features. It has the power to completely change your look. It has the power to define, create, alter, and embolden. It truly is magical.
I wanted to play with that theory today. To show you what it looks like for me to wear absolutely no makeup on one side of my face, and a full face of makeup on the other.
But let me be clear - one is not superior to the other. I love going a day without makeup to give my skin a chance to be free. I feel it is healthy to love your natural face. I don't mind how I look without makeup... although I would prefer my brows to be fuller naturally. But I also love wearing a full makeup look, from foundation, to brows, to eye makeup, to lipstick! And then of course, there is the in-between of that too - which I would consider my go-to look.
Let's dive into the look:
Skincare: All over my face, I applied our Smooth Priming Serum, followed by Berry and Bouquet Hydrating Cream.
Face: I began with Liquid Concealer in Porcelain under the eye, and onto the upper cheekbone to highlight and brighten. Then I applied a good coverage of Loose Mineral Foundation in Atlantic Bisque.
Brows: Loose Mineral Brow Powder in Cliff is my shade.
Blush: I used Tender Twig on the apple of my cheek.
Contour: I wanted a deep contour today, so I used Beguiling Contour Powder.
Highlight: A sweep of Afterglow Highlighting Powder did the trick!
Eyes:
Highlight - I swept Illusion shadow under my brow and to the inner corner of my eye.
Eyelid - Rosen Gold shadow went on the inner half of my eyelid.
Crease - I then applied Autumn Rain on the outer half of my lid, and into the crease. I swept a bit under my eye too.
Outer Corner - Figment finished the shadows as I applied it to the outer corner of my eye, and a little under my eye.
Eyeliner: I applied Black Pureline Pencil to my upper lashline, waterlines, and just a touch under my eye.
Mascara: Natural Black Mascara to upper and lower lashes.
Lips: I began with Prestige Lipstick, followed by Pomegranate Lip Gloss.
