Kristen Von Riesen - Pure Anada Makeup Artist
One of my favorite annual traditions is creating a look involving the Pantone Color of the Year! It’s often a color that is a bit “out there”, so it’s fun to incorporate it into a makeup look! And this year didn’t disappoint either! Ultraviolet is pretty bold. What do you think of this year’s Pantone shade? It will make a really lovely spring/fall color for clothing and accessories. Ever wanted to paint a room a vibrant purple? Now is the time!

Wondering what Ultraviolet looks like? Look no further! Pure Anada's shadow called Tropical Violet perfectly embodies the Pantone Color of the Year. I had so much fun with this look. I made it into a slight smoky eye look with a berry lip color. But it would look exquisite as an eyeliner too! Just dampen your angled liner brush, dip it into Tropical Violet and apply.
The key to applying a bright color is to keep the rest of the look subtle. If you’re wearing a bold lip color, stick with a more natural eyeshadow look. If you’re going bold with your eyeshadow or eyeliner, keep the lips on the lighter side. But don’t be afraid to have fun with color!
